Joint Laboratory for Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Aquaculture

The Joint Laboratory was jointly established by Shenzhen Aohua Feed Group Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The second phase of the laboratory was renewed in 2019 with an investment of RMB 3 million, making it the first joint laboratory renewed by CAS. The joint laboratory mainly focuses on the R&D and application of bacteriophage and antimicrobial peptide products to carry out innovative technology research. As bacterial infection diseases are common in aquaculture, bacteriophage preparations and antimicrobial peptide preparations are developed to prevent and control pathogenic bacterial infection, replacing the use of antibiotics in aquaculture.

The joint lab was created to develop phage therapy for prevention and treatment of vibriosis and enhance production in shrimp farming.
