关新元，教授。于1993年获得美国亚利桑那大学（University of Arizona）遗传学博士， 在美国密西根大学（University of Michigan）肿瘤学系完成博士后工作，于1993年9月加入美国国家健康研究院（NIH）国家人类基因组研究所（National Human Genome Research Institute），任研究员（Senior Staff)。1994-1999年，任NHGRI显微切割研究小组组长。1999年加入香港大学，任临床肿瘤系副教授、教授。
