Recently, the list of synthetic biology enterprises in Guangming to be funded by R&D investment projects in 2021 has been released. A total of 17 enterprises were selected across the district, among which 8 enterprises were settled in the Innovation Center, accounting for 47% of the total number of enterprises; their subsidy amount accounted for more than 40% of the total amount.
Eight enterprises settled in the Innovation Center, including Saiqiao Biotechnology, Syno Minicircle Biotech, Biosysen and Proxybio, were selected into the publicized list of enterprises to be funded by the R & D investment funding projects in 2021.
According to the Administrative Regulations of Guangming District for Special Funds for Economic Development and relevant requirements, the list of enterprises to be funded by the R & D investment projects in 2021 in Guangming District will be publicized during March 27 to 31, 2023, 2023. With the release of the “Several Measures Supporting the Integrated Development of Innovation and Industrial Chains of Synthetic Biology” by the people’s government of Guangming District in 2021, currently the Guangming District has publicized the list of synthetic biology enterprises to be funded in terms of rent support and R&D investment and will activate the innovation vitality of the enterprises through the orientation of industrial policies in different forms such as R&D funding and rent support, with an aim to build a pilot demonstration zone for the integrated development of innovation and industrial chains of synthetic biology.
“The government provides us with R & D funding, which is not only a simple policy dividend, but also means its recognition of our innovation. It will guide enterprises to further increase the proportion of their R & D investment in their operation revenue, and boost their confidence in development.” Enterprises settled in the Innovation Center kept praising the R&D funding policy of Guangming District.
The Innovation Center is an important incubator of synthetic biological industry. With the special policy of the district for synthetic biology industry, the enterprises settled in the Innovation Center can enjoy industrial policies such as rent relief, tax rebates, rewards for talent / research projects, and financial support, as well as services such as intellectual property protection, enterprise qualification declaration, and special subsidies.
