On November 10-11, the third Synthetic Immunology Forum was held in Shenzhen, co-hosted by the SIAT, the School of Synthetic Biology of SIAT University (preparatory), Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology, Shenzhen Synthetic Biology Association and Shenzhen Biological Medicine Promotion Association and organized by the Synthetic Immunology Research Center of Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology. Focusing on the theme of synthetic immunology, the forum explored the latest research achievements and their application prospects in such fields as dynamic changes of immune cells in tumor immunotherapy, the development of anti-tumor drug delivery system, and synthetic biology technology in tumor immunotherapy.
More than 20 renowned experts and scholars of synthetic immunology were invited to attend the forum and deliver a keynote report. Influential figures from home and abroad gathered in the forum, and nearly 80,000 scholars with enthusiasm in synthetic immunology participated in the forum and launched interactive exchanges, witnessing the academic event together.

Synthetic immunology observes the principle of combining basic research and achievement transformation, breaks away from the traditional research routine of life science, and integrates synthetic technology and immune technology. It is a new discipline aimed at the frontier of science and technology, and a new direction of life science research. It covered the latest achievements and progresses from basic research to clinical research in the field of synthetic immunology, summarized the research status of synthetic immunology and explored the development direction of this field in the future, providing an exchange and sharing platform for experts in the field, and offering suggestions for the development of synthetic immunology in China.

The experts shared their latest research progress and scientific thinking and brought a lot of possibilities to the development of synthetic immunology. They delivered a report to introduce the latest research achievements such as immunotherapy based on the new CAR molecular design for tumors and virus infection, the new immune engineering technology for regulating the immune microenvironment of tumors, and synthetic immunology based on gene editing. They would take the forum as an opportunity to gather more outstanding experts and scholars from various disciplines and address the challenges and opportunities of synthetic immunology, a cutting-edge inter-discipline.
The event is the first forum on the theme of “synthetic immunology” in China, which has been held for three times. The forum focuses on the integration of synthetic biology and immunology, with an aim to guide the rational design of synthetic biology systems with the scientific laws found in synthetic immunology, thereby promoting the development of synthetic immunology in China. In the future, the forum will be built into a high-end, large-scale and brand-oriented permanent forum, and work together with peers and partners from various fields to promote the rapid development of synthetic immunology in China.
