Building a Global Alliance of Biofoundires

On May 9, the Global Biofoundry Alliance (GBA) is formally established in Kobe, Japan. The alliance is co-sponsored by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Imperial College of Technology, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tianjin University, and 16 top-ranking synthetic biological facilities from 8 countries around the world.

On the same day, the news is published online in "Nature Communications". Professor Chenli Liu, chief scientist of the Advanced Biofoundry (Shenzhen), director of the Institute of Synthetic Biology, SIAT, and professor Xiongfei Fu are the co-author. Of the article. The article points out that GBA will share infrastructure, open standards, share best practices, and exchange data resources, with the goal of promoting the construction of synthetic biological facilities globally, and jointly address global scientific challenges such as sustainable development.
