Synthetic "Superpower": Plugging Wings for Industrial Applications of Yeast Strains

Following the cover of the international authoritative journal Science in March 2017, the milestone progress of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae gene assembly plan (Sc2.0) participated by Chinese scientists was reported on the cover. Just one year later, on May 22, 2018, Seven well-known international magazines, Nature Communications, published in a special edition, focusing on the major breakthroughs in the application of synthetic yeast strains by scientific research teams in China, Britain, and Germany.Junbiao  Dai's group of SIAT and Yizhi Cai's group of University of Manchester have published two of these papers. They solved the key to the application of synthetic yeasts in metabolic engineering to produce products with important economic and application value Technical Difficulties.
