Asian Synthetic Biology Association (ASBA)

Asian Synthetic Biology Association (ASBA) was founded in November 2018 in South Korea. It was jointly established by Professor Akihiko Kondo of Kobe University, Chenli Liu of SIAT, Matthew Wook Chang of National University of Singapore, and Byung-kwan Cho of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. ASBA focuses on the latest advances in synthetic biology and is committed to promoting the development of synthetic biology research and industry in Asia. ASBA is headquartered in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, and its secretariat is located in Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

ASBA’s mission is to address the major challenges in Asia, to promote the development of synthetic biology and engineering biology, and to support the development of young synthetic biologists. ASBA is committed to consolidating the Asian synthetic biology research strength, connecting synthetic biology talents in Asia, and bridging national boundaries. ASBA is guided by research achievements and aims to enhance Asian talent exchanges and project collaborations. ASBA strives to establish itself among the top international professional associations.
